In 2014, Atapco, as part of a JV with Dolben Company, obtained 5.7 acres in Greenbelt, Maryland. The property included an approved site plan for 304 apartments; however, the building was inefficient and required a revision to site plan to allow the project to move forward. The approvals were complicated due to the site being part of a larger PUD, bounded by three municipalities with standing, and WMATA Commuter train tracks adjoining the rear property line. Verde at Greenbelt Station was particularly attractive to us as the property is within close proximity to the Greenbelt Metro station, providing easy Commuter access to the entire Washington DC metro area and is also close to the NASA Goddard Complex and Greenbelt area parks and amenities. The LEED Gold certified building has three private courtyards including a pool and upscale amenities throughout. Verde at Greenbelt Station was the first new apartment building constructed in Greenbelt in over 20 years and was greeted with excitement by the community at large.
Verde at Greenbelt Station is located on Route 193 (Greenbelt Road) in Prince George’s County, Maryland and is easily accessed via the Capital Beltway (I-95/I-495), Kenilworth Avenue and Cherrywood Lane. It’s also 3/4 of a mile from the Greenbelt Metro Station, making it commuter-friendly to College Park, Washington D.C. and surrounding counties.
