In 2010, Atapco acquired the remnants of the Aladdin Mobile Home Trailer Park, located on 43.2 acres in Howard County Maryland. The project came with phased approvals for 1,076 residential units,23.6% of which are restricted for Moderate Income and a requirement to build 300,000 sf of retail space. By working with the county council, Atapco was able to defer and reduce the amount of Retail required.   Atapco subdivided the property into three components:  433 for sale townhomes, a 299-unit apartment building and a mixed-use development.  Verde East, being the final phase of the project, is a LEED Platinum mixed-use development including, 344 luxury apartments with upscale amenities, two parking garages with dedicated retail and residential parking, 22,000 sf of retail space, a public courtyard with outdoor dining, and two private residential courtyards including a pool.
