ATAPCO PROPERTIES SELLS EAST GATE MARKETPLACE

(December 21, 2022- CHANTILLY, VA) On December 1, 2022, Atapco Properties (“Atapco”) sold East Gate Marketplace in Loudoun County, VA.  East Gate Marketplace, the first phase of which was completed and opened in 2009, is the main commercial component that Atapco developed as part of its 175+/- acre East Gate mixed-use project located on Route 50, south of the Dulles airport. The 120,000 square foot, Harris Teeter-anchored shopping center is situated on 20.5 acres. In addition to Harris Teeter, tenants include Walgreens, Wells Fargo, Starbucks, Jersey Mike’s, Social House Kitchen and Tap House, Banfield Pet Hospital, and many more.

The East Gate mixed-use development encompassed approximately 175 acres that Atapco assembled in 2004 and 2005 and rezoned in 2006. Through the ensuing years, the land was developed and now includes townhome communities, pre-schools, a luxury spa, and a self-storage facility.  In addition to East Gate Marketplace, Atapco developed the adjacent Shoppes at East Gate, the last portion of which Atapco  sold in 2021.

East Gate Marketplace was granted LEED Gold Certification in the fall of 2010, making it the first community shopping center in Virginia to achieve this status.
