GROUNDBREAKING AT WESTMOORE, LOUDOUN COUNTY’S FIRST METRO

Ashburn, Virginia | June 16, 2015– NVR, Inc. in partnership with Atapco Properties and the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation, will host a Groundbreaking Event on June 18, 2015 at 11:30 a.m.  Loudoun County Chairman, Scott York, and Broad Run District Supervisor, Shawn Williams, will be in attendance.

Atapco closed on the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation property, in July 2014. “Every community that we developed has its own unique character,” said Ron Snyder, Director of Land Development with Atapco.  “We are meticulous in our design phase, which results in thoughtfully planned communities with lots of open space, parks and natural outdoor amenities.”

Westmoore is conveniently located at the Dulles Greenway and Loudoun County Parkway interchange along the future Silver Line Metro in Ashburn, Virginia.  NVR, Inc. plans to build 599 townhomes and single family attached homes in two phases – just 1/4 mile to Ashburn Station, scheduled to open in 2020.  “It’s inevitable that this part of Loudoun County, so close to major transportation routes and along the Silver Line Metro, will become a desirable urban scene,” said Joe Jenkins, Vice President of Land with NVR, Inc.

NVHomes and Ryan Homes will build townhomes and single family attached homes with flexible floorplans, luxury design features and lots of natural light. “We’re excited to be creating an urban community within walking distance to metro,” said Keith Neiman, Vice President with NVR, Inc.  “Our builders’ homes will be built around community parks with artistically designed playgrounds, a landscaped tiered amphitheater built into the natural topography, and miles of trails connecting the community to the broader urban environment.”  Westmoore will also offer residents resort-style amenities to include a fitness and yoga center, indoor and outdoor pools, clubhouse, café, library, community gardens, and a dog park.

Site mobilization and construction will begin June 2015 with residential models by NVHomes and Ryan Homes opening Fall 2015.

Claude Moore Charitable Foundation was established in 1987 by Dr. Claude Moore, a successful physician and Northern Virginia landowner who left most of his fortune in trust for the purpose of enhancing educational opportunities for young people throughout the Commonwealth and beyond.  Dr. Moore left his estate to the Foundation to increase its capacity for philanthropy.

The bulk of his estate consisted of real estate, most of which was in Loudoun County, Virginia.  To further the Foundation’s ability to carry out Dr. Moore’s philanthropic goals, the foundation has systematically sold a large portion of his vast real estate holdings and is currently focused on a disposition strategy for the Moorefield Station project.  For further information on the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation, please visit www.claudemoorefoundation.org
